Krasnodar Region companies to export products worth over 2 million dollars
The region’s Export Support Centre, with the assistance of the Department of Business Development and Foreign Economic Activity, organised exhibition stands at trade fairs in Istanbul and Almaty.
«At trade fairs in Istanbul and Almaty, companies from the Krasnodar Region signed 13 supply contracts for their products, worth over 2 million dollars. Negotiations are currently under way on other preliminary agreements reached at the trade fairs in Turkey and Kazakhstan. Staff of trade missions of the Russian Federation and representative offices of the Russian Export Centre in Turkey and Kazakhstan spoke highly of the region’s exhibition stands. The Consul General of Russia in Istanbul and the management of the Istanbul exhibition visited the Krasnodar Region’s stand, met with participating companies, and discussed prospects for expanding the region’s export potential and promoting its products in the Turkish and international markets,» said Deputy Governor Alexander Ruppel.
Following the exhibition in Istanbul, pulses produced in the Krasnodar Region will be shipped to Palestine, wheat bran to Turkey, buckwheat and sugar to Azerbaijan and Armenia, and confectionery to Iraq. Pulses and oilseeds will also be exported to Turkey, India, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. In addition, preliminary agreements have been reached on the supply of cooking sauces to Serbia and Turkey, and of chickpeas, coriander, flax, and peas to Turkey, Pakistan, Jordan, and India. Arrangements are also being finalised for the export of flour and corn grits to Turkey and Iran.
At the exhibition in Almaty, a manufacturer of in-situ concrete equipment has signed a contract to supply formwork.
«During the exhibition in Kazakhstan, a series of meetings were held to expand business contacts with foreign organisations and attract enquiries from companies interested in importing products from the Krasnodar Region. An agreement was reached with the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture to ensure the prompt exchange of enquiries with Iranian companies interested in importing products from our region. We received a specific enquiry from an Iranian company regarding the import of equipment for manufacturing angle steel. In addition, we agreed with an Armenian company to pursue further cooperation and exchange enquiries regarding the import of furniture,» said Yulia Prikhodko, Head of the Department for Business Development and Foreign Economic Activity of the Krasnodar Region.
Yulia Prikhodko also noted that discussions had been held with representatives of an Iranian-Egyptian company specialising in international cargo transportation. The talks focused on providing logistical support for exporters from the Krasnodar Region seeking to enter foreign markets. Negotiations were also held with representatives of companies from China, Kazakhstan, and India. The parties exchanged contact details and agreed to further develop cooperation, including in identifying and processing import enquiries.
